So much for trying to hold myself to task. Sheesh. The last post I put up was just before my Dad came up to visit and I haven't put up a single thing since then. May 28th?! *sigh*

It's not that I haven't been DOING anything. I just haven't been sharing it. I've painted, I've created, wrestled with the struggles I'm still having over creating new art (mostly abstracts). I've taken pictures of various farm projects I've been doing, food preparations etc but just not...sharing it.

I wonder why? More to think about I guess.

In the meantime, I did scan a bit of art I fiddled with from a couple of old art catalogs and type examples that I was going to throw away until I realized that a whole lot of these folks who do art journaling would probably scream at me for it. In fact, I have the distinct feeling that it would quite close to a sort of weird artistic sacrilage, especially for us mixed media types.

I cannot believe it didn't occur to me to paint all over the catalog and use it as collage or a altered book or something. I just can't believe it! I guess that proves how closed minded I was getting. Weird, right? Especially considering my family has always picked on me for saving everything for collage. And at least now I know what to do with ALL of those old art catalogs from my college days! Mwahhhaaahhha!!

Thank you to all those art journalists out there who share their love out in the open on youtube. You have been a great help in helping me to stop being so closed minded and pin holed in my vision.

One of these years I'll post up again some of my small farm stuff. ;-)

Ordinarily I would tear this up and use it in other art. For some reason, I just can't do it to this piece. So I'll keep it around for a while and see happens. I just love how the piece came out and actually can't bear to tear it up.

This is simply from an Art News Magazine page that for some reason came together nicely. Same thing, I really could bear to tear it up (you should see what I've done to all the other pages though :-). So here it is until I figure out what to do with it as well. Just a bit of fun fiddling around, playing with paint and collage cut outs that I did.
